What is being compared

Each row begins with the partner's source-defined HP, movement speed, attack multiplier, types, and assigned starting move. Those are the values used when a new player enters a run before Pokémon-specific permanent upgrades are applied.

The move evolution column is about the starting move, not Pokémon form evolution. It links to the level 5 and run-stat requirement found in the same fixed source version.

No weighted score is used. A single score would require arbitrary weights for survival, mobility, damage, range, status, and ease of positioning. Hiding those choices inside one number would look precise without being more truthful.

The short profile uses distribution thirds within these 29 starters. It describes relative values and move shape, not measured strength.

How to read the tradeoffs

HP creates room for mistakes

More starting HP increases the raw damage a partner can take before upgrades, healing, defense, and run effects. It does not prevent dangerous positioning or replace movement.

Speed changes spacing

Base speed affects how quickly you can leave attack warnings, route around groups, and return for experience. Weather, terrain, buffs, permanent upgrades, and slows modify it later.

Attack multiplies move damage

The partner attack value is a multiplier applied to move damage before type effectiveness and critical hits. It does not describe cooldown, projectile count, status, or targeting.

Starting move changes the opening

Melee, projectile, boomerang, nova, and homing behavior create different positioning demands. Later card choices expand the move pool, so the first move does not define the whole run.

Permanent upgrades change the baseline

Upgrades belong to each Pokémon, not to one shared account-wide combat profile. Comparing a heavily upgraded favorite with a fresh starter is not a fair test of their base values. Move levels and run-stat cards also change a build after the opening minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Why is this page called a tier list without S, A, or B ranks?

Players search for a tier list when they want help choosing. The available evidence supports a transparent stat and starting-move comparison, not a tested letter ranking. The page keeps the search intent while refusing to invent results.

Does the highest attack multiplier mean the strongest starter?

No. It multiplies move damage, but starting HP, movement speed, move behavior, type effectiveness, upgrades, card luck, and player positioning also affect a run.

Are these Pokémon evolution paths?

No. The checked playable records do not define Pokémon form-evolution paths. The table shows how each partner's starting move can evolve during a run.

Will permanent upgrades change the comparison?

Yes. Upgrades are purchased separately for each Pokémon and can add HP, attack, speed, cooldown reduction, defense, regeneration, pickup range, experience gain, critical chance, and other benefits. The table compares unupgraded source values.

Source and limits

The comparison uses the site's pinned PokéSurvivor source snapshot. It does not import competitor ranks, main-series battle stats, community votes, or unrecorded playtest claims. Strategy language is limited to what can be inferred from source values and documented move behavior.
