Tickets, banners, and rarity

The game uses tickets earned by playing. Regular enemies can drop regular tickets, bosses and rift legendaries can award ×10 tickets, and mission rewards also include tickets. They are not purchased through this guide.

A single pull costs one regular ticket. A ten-pull costs ten regular tickets or one ×10 ticket, depending on the selected ticket type in the game. There are nine generation banners: Kanto through Paldea.

Pity and ten-pull rules

Per-banner pity

Each generation banner keeps its own counter. The counter increments before a pull. The pull at counter 70 is forced to five-star, and any resolved five-star resets that banner's counter to zero.

70 counter threshold

Ten-pull guarantee

The tenth result is restricted to rarity 4 or 5 only when the first nine contain no rarity 4 or 5. The conditional weights become 81.25% four-star and 18.75% five-star.

Only the last result branches

Shiny attempt

Each resolved pull has a 1% shiny attempt if the Pokémon has an available shiny sprite. A duplicate shiny redirects to an unowned same-rarity shiny when possible.

Collection-dependent reroute

Duplicate refund

Normal duplicate refunds are 15, 30, 60, 120, or 300 Pokémonedas for rarity 1 through 5. The source includes a triple shiny refund fallback, but normal shiny rerouting usually avoids it.

Target probability calculator

Calculate the exact base-selection chance for one species under the pinned rarity, pity, and ten-pull rules.

Use the counter before your next pull. At 69, the next pull is forced to five-star.

Maximum 500. Ten-pull methods require a multiple of 10.

Base-selection probability

Choose a target

Select a banner and an exact Pokémon name, then enter your pity counter and planned pulls.

Calculation assumptions

These statements are part of the result, not hidden implementation details.

Uniform pool selection

After rarity resolution, the implementation chooses uniformly from the eligible Pokémon in that rarity pool.

Counter state is explicit

The calculator accepts the banner's current no-five-star counter and validates 0 through 69. It does not infer a counter from pull history.

Ten-pull method is explicit

Single pulls use the ordinary distribution. Ten-pull methods require a multiple of ten so the last-result branch is modeled at the correct positions.

Shiny ownership is omitted

To model the final new-item probability, the user would need to provide the owned shiny set for the relevant rarity pools. That input is intentionally not requested here.

Calculation examples

Percentages below use the same state transition as the calculator and are rounded for display.

Mewtwo with pity at 69

The next Kanto pull is forced to five-star. There are 6 five-star Pokémon, selected uniformly, so Mewtwo's base-selection probability is 1 / 6.

16.6667%

Venusaur across 10 pulls

Starting from pity 0, ten individual pulls give 2.0771%. A ten-pull batch gives 3.2156% because the last result branches to the four-plus distribution when the first nine contain no four or five-star result.

Frequently asked questions

What does the calculator actually calculate?

It calculates the exact probability that base species selection chooses the named target at least once under the checked rarity, pity, five-star reset, and ten-pull rules. It does not model your owned shiny collection, so it does not claim to be the final probability of receiving a new shiny or a new normal Pokémon.

When does five-star pity trigger?

The implementation increments the banner counter before resolving each pull. When the counter reaches 70, that pull is forced to rarity 5, then the counter resets.

What does a ten-pull guarantee?

If the first nine results contain no rarity 4 or 5, the tenth result rolls only among rarity 4 and 5 using normalized weights of 81.25% and 18.75%. Five-star pity takes precedence when it triggers.

How are duplicate Pokémon handled?

Normal duplicates refund Pokémonedas by rarity: 15, 30, 60, 120, or 300. Shiny attempts first redirect an owned shiny to an unowned same-rarity shiny when one exists. That collection-dependent reroute is outside this calculator's exact base-selection scope.

Can I buy tickets or connect my account here?

No. Tickets are earned in the game, this guide does not read saves, and the calculator never creates an account or takes payment information.
